Annual Charity Golf Outing Reaches All Time High in Fundraising

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – August 15, 2016 – 148 golfers teed off for a cause on Monday, July 25th, participating in the 6th Annual Kroeschell Charity Golf Outing. The event, held at Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois brought together nearly 200 golfers and volunteers to help raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society (ACS). This is the second year Kroeschell has named the American Cancer Society as charity recipient of this exciting event.

After a brief breakfast and Bloody Mary Bar, all golfers enjoyed a challenging round of 18 holes using the Team Peoria System. Numerous fundraisers occurred throughout the event including raffles on the green, games on various holes, a long putting contest and a silent auction after golf. The “day of event” fundraisers alone raised over $15,000 towards an estimated $30,000 that will go directly to the American Cancer Society.

After an exciting day on the course, golfers returned to the clubhouse to enjoy a cocktail hour and dinner buffet provided by Kemper Lakes Golf Club.

Following dinner, the event continued with the introduction of Mark Lowry, cancer survivor and Senior Manager of the Lakeshore Division of ACS. Lowry shared his experience with cancer and explained the impact the golfers have on the American Cancer Society and cancer patients everywhere.

“The event this year was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed that we changed it up from last year and focused in on the mission and programs of ACS, which hits home a little more and let’s everyone know where the money is going,” said Lowry. “It’s amazing to think how much of an impact that Kroeschell and the golfers have on the lives of cancer patients and their caregivers. The money raised allows us to conduct lifesaving research and allows us to help patients and families overcome hurdles, whether it’s giving them a ride to treatment, giving them a place to stay closer to their treatment, or making sure they have someone they can reach out to 24 hours a day”.

Kroeschell received over 25 sponsorships from other local businesses, vendors and customers which helped to make the sixth annual event a success.
